This is one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in London. The food quality is always consistently high, and every visit has been enjoyable.
I especially love the roast duck and roast chicken, the skin is incredibly crispy and delicious. The fried noodles and other dishes are also excellent and full of flavour.
For dessert, the red bean pancake and banana cake are both amazing and definitely worth trying.
Great food, great quality, and a place I always look forward to coming back to. Highly recommended!
The food was underwhelming, tasting like a typical Chinese takeaway, and we found a piece of metal in one of the dishes, which ruined our appetite. Our table of eight was booked from 6:00–7:30pm; the soup arrived at 6:15pm, but the mains didn’t come until 6:50pm, leaving us rushed. While we appreciate the dessert offered after the incident, the quality, cleanliness, and service fell short of expectations. We will not be returning and also not recommend.
Went for a quick dinner, we ordered Chicken with cashew, Kai Lan and Asparagus with Scallops. All delicious and will be back.
Nearest tube station- Queensway and Bayswater
Street Parking available but tricky.
I’d highly recommend this spot it was the perfect dinner for after skating across the road. I started with the wonton soup and it was perfect for a winters day not too heavy and the wontons themselves were so flavourful. One of my friends ordered the chicken and sweetcorn soup and it was so creamy and the sweetcorn flavour was delightful it was almost like a sweetcorn puree. We also started with some prawn toast which was super fresh and it even had a slight crunch from the prawns and we ordered the duck spring rolls which came with some sweet chill sauce but the prawn toast dipped in the sauce was an excellent addition. The duck rolls were super fresh and flavourful the spices paired with the duck immaculate. For mains we had the barbecued pork this is an absolute need. The pork was so tender and literally melted in the mouth we ordered some garlic pak choi and it paired excellently with the meat. The pak choi itself was seasoned to perfection I’d highly recommend this. And we also had some lemon chicken which was so succulent and the sauce was perfectly lemony and all of the chicken pieces were the perfect bite size. We also had the iced lemon tea for drinks it was super delicious not too sweet but you could definitely taste the lemon and my friend had the fruit punch which was very citrusy which she enjoyed.
We did book ahead and I would recommend in doing so as it was pretty busy and for a good reason. The restaurant was pretty and I liked the decor. The staff were super friendly and helpful I would definitely come back.
If you’re looking for truly outstanding Chinese food in London, Mandarin Kitchen is, without question, my absolute favourite. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why I keep coming back, the food is consistently incredible, full of rich, authentic flavours and always cooked to perfection. You can really taste the quality and care in every dish.
What makes the experience even better is the service. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and welcoming, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you’re genuinely looked after from start to finish.
I’ve been to Mandarin Kitchen countless times over the years, and not once have I left disappointed, which is honestly rare to find. The consistency is impressive, and it’s clear they take pride in maintaining such high standards.
On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the location and the quality you get, making it even easier to keep coming back. For me, this place is a real gem in London and easily one of the best Chinese restaurants around. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
